English: In 1942, with the fall of Hong Kong, Nanshitou in Guangzhou became a refugee camp for those expelled from Hong Kong by the Japanese. Many were murdered or died in the camp. Their bodies were simply thrown into a low area covered with earth. In October 1947, the Guangzhou government moved these bodies from Nanshitou (南石頭) to Qixing Hill (七星崗). Hence the engraving on the tomb.
